HUNTING THE GOODE RANCH IN FAR WEST TEXAS TRANS PECOS AREA TERRELL COUNTY, TEXAS The Goode Ranch was formed 109 years ago by my Great Grandfather, M.H. Goode, Sr. and has been in the Goode Family ever since. I am the current heir of this ranch and an owner since 1994 with my 2 adult sons to follow as the 5th Generation. I was raised on this ranch hunting and working it. The ranch currently has 7,008 acres of Trans Pecos Terrain with deep canyons, large vegas and vast divides. This is the far Eastern edge of the Chihuahua Desert sporting White Tail Deer, small herds of Mule Deer, Javelina, Rio Grande Turkey, Dove and Quail along with lots of Predators. This ranch has not been Commercially Hunted in over 20 years. The Banner Family and friends have been the only sportsmen hunting this ranch in that time period up till this year. The ranch has been a working Sheep & Goat ranch since its inception. The ranch lay fallow for 5 years from 2010 to 2015 and then a small herd of hair sheep and cattle was placed on the ranch but have recently been removed. There are also some wild Spanish Goats that roam the ranch. For the Hunting Season of 2020 the ranch is offering up 2 long weekend hunts (Friday thru Sunday, you can arrive Thursday PM and leave Monday AM if you so choose) for the months of November and December for 4 Hunters at a time with limited take of 1 Whitetail Buck/1 Whitetail Doe/1 Turkey/1 Javelina each with all exclusive room and board at $2,000 per gun. (If you take a Mule Deer Buck/Doe you will be charged $1,000 extra per gun). You must furnish your own gun and ammo. The ranch offers many ways to hunt. You can set in a blind, you can ride in a high rack and be driven around or you can stalk/walk/rock the canyons. All transportation on the ranch will be provided. It is 120 Miles from Midland/Odessa Int. Airport or 35 Miles SE from Sheffield, Texas off of I-10 West. The wildlife on this ranch are not managed, they are native animals with very little supplement except water troughs and occasional mineral supplements that they share with livestock. Corn feeders are set up in October. Lodging is a large Metal Barn converted into a Hunting Camp, Sleeps 6 and a Bunk House, Sleeps 4. All Bedding is furnished. Meals are furnished and will be hearty and filling with a lot of campfire cooking.
